Miss Walmsley

Miss Walmsley - Teacher (Year 3)

Hello my name is Miss Walmsley and I teach year 3.

I have been teaching for 12 years. Old Clee is the only school I have ever taught at, I like it here so much I haven't wanted to move! This year I am working in Year 3.

I enjoy my work developing children and helping them with their school work and I also run a Craft Club at lunchtime which is lots of fun.


Mr Simpson

Mr Simpson - Teacher

I am Mr Simpson and I teach year 3.

I am a year 3 teacher at Old Clee School. We work very hard in year 3 but have a lot of fun while we are working. I have been teaching for 7 years since I qualified in Birmingham. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 6 years old, so am now living my dream and having a great time developing the citizens of the future.

I am interested in sports, playing and watching, and I am in charge of PE and Games. I really enjoy playing badminton, football, cricket and basketball. I also love watching football especially Crewe Alex.

I am looking forward to developing some great sports teams that Old Clee School can be proud of in the way they play and develop as good sportsmen and women.


Mrs Lambert

Mrs Lambert - Teacher (Year 3)

My name is Mrs Lambert and I am a year 3 teacher.

I have been teaching at Old Clee for fifteen years. The class I teach are called 3SL and the children are polite, keen to learn and hard working. The arts are my particular interest within the school and dance and drama, including speaking and listening, are my areas of responsibility.

My other interest is athletics and Old Clee have won the local indoor Sportshall Athletic League on more than one occasion.

I am the local organiser for Trinity/Guildhall speech exams and I also enter children for two local arts festivals.


Year 4

Mrs Simmons

Mrs Simmons - Teacher (Year 4)

I teach year 4 as well as my Assistant Head duties.

I am teaching in Year 4 and enjoy Music and Maths.

I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone and working with them. Old Clee was the first school I ever taught at -a long time ago-so it's lovely to be back!


Miss Blair

Miss Blair - Teacher (Year 4)

Hello, I’m Miss Blair. I’m a Year 4 teacher and my class is 4JB.

This is my seventh year teaching at Old Clee School. I came here after completing my degree in English Literature and have not wanted to leave since!

I have a great bunch of children in my class. They strike the perfect balance between showing wonderful manners, lots of enthusiasm and a real eagerness to learn and progress at the same time as having lots of character and a great sense of humour.

Old Clee is a wonderful place to work because not only do we have well behaved and keen pupils, we are also fortunate enough to have a team of knowledgeable and supportive professionals on our staff who work together to create a great learning and working environment for pupils and staff alike.


Year 5

Mr Howard

Mr Howard - Teacher (Year 5)

I teach year 5 as well as my Assistant Head duties.

I'm Mr Howard and I teach a year 5 class at Old Clee School. I have been at Old Clee since September 2007 after 10 years at my previous school. My new role at Old Clee is as Assistant Head, working closely with the staff and children in years 5 and 6. I will also enjoy organising the years 5 and 6 girls football team.

The staff and pupils at Old Clee have already made me feel very welcome, especially my class with their excellent sense of humour and desire to work hard.


Mrs French

Mrs French - Teacher (Year 5)

I’m Mrs French - a year 5 teacher.

I’m Mrs French and I joined Old Clee School in September 2006. I have been lucky enough to have had experience teaching all years within the junior age range.

This year I am teaching in year five. My class are a friendly, helpful and full of vibrant characters, which will make for and exciting and rewarding year!

This year I will be taking responsibility for the Healthy School programme and enabling children to make a positive contribution to the community.


Mrs Upson

Hello, I'm Mrs Upson. I teach class 5CU.

Hello, I’m Mrs Upson and I teach Class 5CU (with a lot of help from our Teaching Assistants, Mrs Hallam, Mrs Vick and Mrs Burnett.)

This is my 4th year teaching here and I’m especially excited about this coming year. With our school in its second year and with a wonderful new class, I think Old Clee School just gets better and better!

In 5CU, we all work very hard but we have fun and enjoy our learning as well.


Year 6

Mrs Mullins

Mrs Mullins - Teacher (Year 6)

I am Mrs Mullins and I teach year 6.

Hello. My name is Mrs Mullins and I joined the new Old Clee School in September 2007.

I have been teaching for 15 years and this is my third school in this time. Whilst I have taught all ages within KS2, my expertise over the last few years has been with Year 5 and 6 pupils. I enjoy the challenge of preparing the children for their secondary school careers as well as ensuring that they are ready to meet the expectations of the end of Key Stage 2 tests.

My new role involves me in promoting the ‘Enjoy and Achieve’ element of the ‘Every Child Matters’ Agenda and heading the curriculum area of Science.

I am delighted to be a member of this school community and look forward to the year ahead.


Miss Shires

Miss Shires - Teacher (Year 6)

Hello. My name is Miss Shires and I am currently teaching in Year 6.

I have been teaching for over 12 years and have worked in Cleethorpes, Scunthorpe and Grimsby. I have taught in each year group of key stage 2.

I have been at Old Clee for over 6 years and enjoy my job very much. We are very lucky to have such a well resourced school with extensive grounds. Our pupils are polite, friendly, helpful and keen to learn.

My interests within school include looking after the peer mediators, running a team of pupils who carry out litter picking and paper recycling, looking after the school council and I run the Key Stage 2 skipping club alongside Mrs Barrett.

My personal interests include running, swimming, reading, looking after my rabbits and guinea pig and travelling.


Mrs Peck

Mrs Peck - Teacher (Year 6)

I'm Mrs Peck and I teach 6JP .

I was new to the school in September 2006, although I have taught at various schools in Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

Within 6JP, we like our classroom bright and colourful and enjoy working hard at all subjects in school, particularly whilst listening to Mozart.

We also enjoy taking part in the various clubs and extra curricular activities that are provided within our school, including football, table tennis and badminton, to name just a few.

We are all immensely proud to let everyone know that we attend and learn at Old Clee School.

Miss Baxter

Miss Baxter - MFL Teacher

Hi! I'm Miss Baxter.

Bonjour! I’m Miss Baxter. I’ve been teaching for about nine years, six of them at Old Clee. I’m lucky enough to be able to say that I love my job. The staff have always been great to work with and the children, as always, are wonderful. Each of them brings something special to the school.

I’m responsible for the MFL (or French!) in the school.


Mr Dean

Mr Dean - SENco

Hello, I'm Mr Dean and I am in charge of Special Educational Needs.

My name is Mr Dean. I am in charge of managing the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision. This involves liaising with the many health professionals and external agencies that work with our children, both in and out of the school, helping to organise the most appropriate support for pupils identified as having SEN.

In addition to this, I provide cover teaching for key stage one and key stage two teachers, and teach ICT to years 4 and 5 and PE to years 3 and 6.


Mr Ward

Mr Ward - Teacher

My name is Mr Ward and I teach maths groups in year 5 and 6.

I joined Old Clee Junior School in January 1991 taking Year 5 classes until going part time in September 1995.

My main area of responsibility for virtually all my time at Old Clee has been E.V.S with a lot of time given over to developing the school grounds as a learning resource with the view to enhancing the aesthetics of the school.

Throughout my time at this school I have actively encouraged an interest in badminton, table tennis and chess with the particular desire to engage the more reserved children to participate in an extra curricular activity to help develop their self confidence.


Mrs Barrett

Mrs Barrett - Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Hello I am a Higher Level Teaching Assistant teaching pupils key skills in ICT.

I also support various literacy programmes within the school. I am responsible for computer clubs at lunchtime and skipping club each Friday.

I am a co-ordinator for the Friends of the School.

Hello, I am the Learning Mentor for Old Clee school.

I also support various literacy programmes within the school.


Mr Shacklock

Mr Shacklock - Teaching Assistant

I am a Teaching Assistant who works on the website and message boards.

I also work with children in the ICT suite. I love working with children. I have two young children myself, and it is wonderful to be able to relate my experiences with the children at school to James and Lucy.


Mrs Balding

I am a Teaching Assistant supporting teachers in Year 4.

I work with our year 4 pupils supporting them mainly with literacy and numeracy.


Mrs Burnett

In my role as Teaching Assistant I support teachers and pupils in Year 5 for literacy.

I also support our year 5 children in numeracy.


Mrs Jennings

I am Mrs Jennings and I work in a year 3 class.

I am working in a year 3 class this year supporting the teacher and children, especially with maths and English.


Mrs Shepherd

Hi, my name is Mrs Shepherd and I am a Teaching Assistant.

I joined Old Clee in March 2007 and am presently working in KS2, supporting year 3 pupils. I give them guidance and support with their numeracy, literacy and foundation subjects.

I am Mrs Stuffin.

I am currently based in year 6, helping and supporting students who are working towards their forthcoming move to secondary school.


Mrs Bullivant - Technical Officer


Mrs Barker - Teacher

I work one day and a half days a week.

Last year I came to the school to offer cover when teachers were on courses. This year, I will be working with all classes in KS1 and KS2 as well as providing cover for the staff.

I am a Teaching Assistant currently supporting teachers and pupils in Year 6.

Once again this year, I am working with children in year 6 and supporting their teachers.

This year I am working with teachers and children in year 3.

I am working with year 4 children this year.

I am beginning my first full year at Old Clee and will be working with a year 4 class.
